Walnut Thumbprint Cookies
These cookies are good anytime of year, but my family always makes them around the holidays. They’re easy to make and the walnuts give them the extra texture and crunch they need! Top these cookies with your favorite jam and enjoy!
What ingredients do I need to make this?
Margarine
Butter
Brown sugar
Egg
Vanilla
All-purpose flour
Salt
Walnuts
Preserves/jam
What kind of jam should I use?
Whatever you prefer! I like to use ollalieberry or blackberry jam, but it truly is whatever you like.
What is a thumbprint cookie?
You may have heard them referred to as Hallongrotta, but I grew up calling them thumbprint cookies! They’re originally from Sweden, and are typically baked with the jam in them. However, I like it much better with fresh jam on top after baking!
